That 5% comes out of what your guide and driver earn. Your price stays the same. They give it because Siem Reap is home. Everything else goes straight to them, which is also why a private local guide costs you less than the big operators. So far we've given books and pens to children and to a small school. We believe no donation is too small. Most of the time the kids are so happy and grateful to get them.
Where it gets busy, and where it does not
Angkor Wat and Ta Prohm are the two everyone comes for, so expect people at both, whatever time you go. We soften it where we can: most visitors watch the sunrise at Angkor Wat and leave for breakfast, so arriving at 8:30 means it is quieter than it was an hour earlier, though never empty.
The rest of the day is a different feeling. The Baphuon, the Royal Palace area, Phimeanakas and Preah Palilay see far fewer people, and the walk between them is a lot calmer, apart from the monkeys at the Baphuon.
Flexible, because you book the whole day
The plan above is the usual day, back around 4pm, when many tours have already stopped at 2. You are paying for the full day, so you can stay longer at a temple you love, skip one that is not for you, add more temples after lunch, or end the day with the sunset. Tell your guide on the day and the plan changes with you.
You can also swap the afternoon temples for half a day in town: the Old Market, Psar Leu (the big market for people living in Siem Reap), a pagoda such as Wat Bo or Wat Damnak, the Royal Gardens along the river, and local artisans at work. It's the same price as a normal day.

Can we see Siem Reap town as well as the temples?
Yes, at the same price. Can we add the sunrise to the day tour?
Yes. We pick you up at 4:30am, watch the sunrise from Angkor Wat, then carry on with the rest of the day, back at your hotel around 3:30 to 4pm. It's $10 more than the day tour, so $105 solo, $140 by private tuk-tuk, $160 by private A/C SUV or $175 by private A/C minivan.

The usual plan has you back at your hotel around 4pm. Many Siem Reap day tours stop at 2pm. Your price covers the full day, so you can add more temples in the afternoon, head back early, or stay out until sunset at no extra cost. Just tell your guide.
Tuk-tuk, SUV or minivan?
Tuk-tuk is open-air and classic, and seats up to 3 adults. The A/C SUV takes 2 adults and a child and is cooler on hot days. Groups of 3 to 6 adults who want A/C take the minivan. All are private to you.
How do I get from Siem Reap to Angkor Wat?
Angkor Wat is about 6km north of town, around 20 minutes by tuk-tuk or 15 by car. For a one-way ride, PassApp and Grab work fine. For a temple day, you'll want one driver for the whole day, since the temples are spread across the park and your driver waits outside each one. On this tour that's included. We pick you up at your hotel at 8am, drive you between every temple and bring you back.
Can I visit Angkor Wat if stairs are hard for me?
Yes. Every tour is private, so the day is planned around what you can manage. Tell us when you book. At Angkor Wat your driver can drop you at the east entrance, which is a shorter walk. Just ask, and we can arrange the same at other temples. The stairs inside are narrow and worn smooth, and the steep ones have handrails. You can skip any climb: the long carved galleries at Angkor Wat are at ground level. Your guide stays with you, and the A/C car waits nearby when you need a break.
