Who we are

Go Siem Reap Locals is a family-run collective of Ministry-certified local guides based in Siem Reap, Cambodia, operating under that trading name. We are the controller of the personal data described here. You can reach us at support@gosiemreaplocals.com.

What we collect

We only collect what we need to answer you and arrange your tour:

• Enquiry details you send us: your name, email address, the tour you are interested in, and any dates, group size or notes you include.
• Booking details if you reserve a date through our calendar: your name, email and the time you chose.
• Email correspondence once we start talking.
• Basic technical data your browser sends to our host (for example IP address and page requests), kept in standard server logs.

We do not run analytics, advertising trackers or profiling of any kind on this site.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

We use your data to reply to your enquiry and, if you book, to plan and run your tour. Under the GDPR our legal bases are: your consent when you send an enquiry, taking steps to enter into and perform a contract with you, and our legitimate interest in keeping basic records and running the site securely. We do not use your details for advertising.

Who we share it with

We share your details only as needed to run your tour: with the guide and driver assigned to you, and with the service providers that operate our tools: Hostinger (website and email hosting), Web3Forms (delivers your enquiry form message to our inbox) and Cal.com (the booking calendar, if you reserve a date). Each handles your data under its own privacy terms. You pay in cash on the day, so no online payment processor ever sees your card details. If we add online payment later, we will name the processor here first. We never sell your personal data.

International transfers

We operate from Cambodia. If you contact us from the EU, the UK or elsewhere, your data will be handled outside those regions. We take reasonable steps to protect it and only share it with the providers named above.

Cookies and analytics

This site sets no cookies. No analytics, no marketing trackers, no third-party scripts. If that ever changes, we will describe it here and, for EU and UK visitors, ask for consent before any non-essential cookies load.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry and booking correspondence for up to 24 months so we can follow up and keep basic records, then delete it. Server logs are kept for a short period by our host.

Your rights

You can ask us to give you a copy of your data, correct it, delete it, restrict or object to how we use it, or receive it in a portable form. Where we rely on consent, you can withdraw it at any time, and doing so is as easy as giving it. To exercise any of these, email support@gosiemreaplocals.com. If you are in the EU or UK, you also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority.

Children

Our site and tours are aimed at adults booking travel. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16. If you think a child has given us data, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change how we handle your data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Please check back before you book.
