Terms & Conditions
Last updated: 11 July 2026.
About these terms
These terms apply when you enquire about or book a tour with Go Siem Reap Locals, a family-run business operating under that trading name in Siem Reap, Cambodia. By booking, you agree to them on behalf of everyone in your group. Please read them with our Privacy Policy.
Enquiries and bookings
Sending an enquiry or reserving a date on the calendar is not yet a confirmed booking. We reply, usually within 24 hours, with your guide's name and a plan. Your tour is confirmed once we confirm it in writing by email. No deposit is taken.
Prices and what is included
Prices are per group in US dollars and cover your private guide, driver and vehicle for the day. They exclude the official Angkor park pass, which is a government ticket you buy yourself at the ticket office, and they exclude meals, drinks and personal expenses unless the tour page says otherwise. A few outer temples (for example Beng Mealea) charge a small separate entry ticket; where that applies, the tour page says so before you book.
Payment
You pay in cash on the day, in US dollars or Cambodian riel, directly to your guide. No deposit, no online payment, no card details. If we add online payment in future, we will update these terms and the tour pages first.
Cancellations and refunds
Because no deposit is taken, there is never anything to refund. You can cancel or move your date free of charge; we ask for at least 24 hours' notice by WhatsApp or email so your guide can offer the day to someone else. If you cancel later than that or do not show up, you owe us nothing, but the day is lost for your guide, so please tell us as soon as you can. If you are late to pick-up, your guide will wait and contact you, and the day simply starts when you do; lost time cannot always be made up within the same day.
Changes or cancellation by us, and events beyond control
Occasionally we may need to adjust or reschedule a tour for safety, weather, temple or site closures, transport problems, or the illness of a guide (in which case we aim to provide another certified guide). We are not liable for events beyond our reasonable control, including extreme weather, natural events, strikes, civil unrest, government restrictions or public-health measures. In those cases we will offer to reschedule where we can. Since you pay nothing in advance, a cancelled tour simply costs you nothing.
Your responsibilities
You agree to: buy your own Angkor park pass; bring a valid passport or ID where required; arrive on time for pick-up; follow your guide's reasonable safety instructions; and respect temple dress codes, rules and the local community. You are responsible for your own belongings and for having any travel documents and insurance you need.
Health, safety and assumption of risk
Our tours involve walking, heat, and uneven, ancient and sometimes slippery terrain. You confirm that you and your group are fit to take part and that you understand and voluntarily accept the inherent risks of temple visits, transport by tuk-tuk or vehicle, and travel in Cambodia. We strongly recommend you hold your own travel insurance covering medical care and cancellation.
Our liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for the acts or omissions of third parties such as the Angkor park authority, restaurants, ticket sellers or other suppliers. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or anything else that cannot be limited by law. Where we are liable, our liability is limited to the amount you paid us for the tour.
Where your money goes
A fixed 5% of every booking funds village schools and clean-water projects in the Siem Reap countryside. We will name the specific partner on this site once it is confirmed. The 5% comes out of your guide and driver's share, not added to your price, so giving back never makes the tour cost you more. They do it because Siem Reap is home. The rest goes straight to them, no middleman.
